Jesus was of the Ioudaioi

Ioudaioi is the Greek word for Judean. Strictly speaking, “Jew,” in English, is just a contraction (i.e., “Ju”) of the term that in western Europe became dispersed into other tongues via Latin: Judeus. The Greek word Ioudaios is a rendering of Hebrew Yehudi, or Aramaic Yehuda`i, a term essentially defining the ethnic group descended from the patriarch Judah, who gave his name to their tribal territory, Judah, which was then expanded through conquest in the 2nd and 1st centuries BCE and designated in Latin as “Judea.” - “Judean” and “Jew”, Jesus and Paul – Joan Taylor | The Marginalia Review of Books

What was Yeshua (Jesus') cultural background? Jewish? Ioudaios.” I'm going to say something that may seem quite controversial but it is necessary to move closer to the truth. Yeshua (Jesus) was not a Jew. There were no Jews in the days of Yeshua (Jesus) in fact. The Greek word Ioudaios is equivilat to the English word Judean. (Look for school work on Ioudaios location and background). So where does the word “Jew” come from? A Jew is a person who has been born into a religion based on a rabbinic model of the Babylonian Talmud that was gathered from older scripts ......research and link to other page......which started in the 6th century. We need to break Biblical association with rabbinic Judaism just as we need to break Biblical association with Christianity as the Holy Scriptures were written about and for a much different demographic than we assume today. What we do need to keep firm within our perception is that Yeshua (Jesus) was Judean and would have never turned from his Judean customs and behaviours.

The Tribe of Judah

Royal Messianic Titles of OldThe Lion from the tribe of Judah (Gen 49:9) & The Root of David (Isa 11:1)

Gen 49:8-10  (Rev 5:5a)

Ezekiel 37:24 - One shepherd to rule them all

Revelation 5:5B - Behold, the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome to open the scroll and its seven seals. This honor is not based on identity alone but on the deed of overcoming. John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world, you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."

Who alone can open the scroll? Revelation 5:6 "And I saw in the midst of the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth". See Daniel 7 and 1 Enoc 69 "And from henceforth there shall be nothing corruptible; for THAT Son of Man has appeared, and has seated himself on the throne of his glory! And all evil shall pass away before his face, and the word of THAT sone of Man shall go forth and be strong before the Lord of Spirits".

Ancient Scripture, Ancient Tradition & Christianity

The seer of 1 Enoch 85-90 tells of a dream where all Israel is represented by animals. Great kings were portrayed as rams and the nations's leaders as shepherds of the sheep.  God is the Lord of the sheep (Ezekiel 34:31; Psalm 79:13, 95:7, 100:3; 1 Enoc 90:20)

Exodus 19:6 connects people of all lands to the priestly kingdom of Israel (Revelation drawing on. OT scripture) along with 1 Peter 2:9.  Isaiah 66:18b-21 tells of the day when God would restore Israel by taking priests from other nations.
