Revelations 1:3
Rev 14:1 - "Then I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and the name of his father written on their foreheads"
Rev 14:3 - And they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that one except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
Only the marked 144,000 can learn and sing this song - Rev 14:3-4
Are these the ones that overcome and receive a white stone and a new name in Rev 2:17? Or are they linked to the ultimate image of the remnant of Israel in Isaiah 53 - the perfect, holy servant and warrior of Israel?
There are two texts mentioning the 144,000 - Rev 7 & 14 - v.7 the tribe of Dan is omitted from the list and long with Ephraim - Much speculation is around Dan being of bad character but archeological studies don't show anything from Dan that would set off red flags or would show a reason for God to cut him out. We also have to be careful not to write Dan off as his tribe's symbol is that of a snake.
